Emotion Crime
To judge by the actions of the government he leads, Justin Trudeau is now entering the Kim Jong Un phase of megalomania, such that it will surely soon be illegal in Canada to speak of our Supreme Leader except in terms of the highest flattery acknowledging his divinity. In the meantime, driven apparently by a sense of unlimited power and authority, his government is now intent on the criminalization of emotion: specirfically, the emotion of hate.
As for penalties, we're not talking a slap on the wrist. If this, let us not call it hateful legislation, so, um, insane legislation, the Online Harms Act, or Bill C-63, is enacted, the penalties for the willul promotion of hate will be two to five years imprisonment.
So yes, under this legislation Canadians will live in fear. Think carefully before calling for "Death to Hamas," be aware that saying "fuck off" may be an imprisonable offense, and be sure that saying "Fuck Trudeau" surely is an imprisonable offense. And will it be illegal to speak hatefully of rats, rapists, warmongers or thieves? Will it be considered criminally hateful to say that Justin Trudeau is an insane dictator wannabee? A megalomaniac? An idiot?

When Self-Defense Is Racist Hate Speech
A right-wing British activist (citizen) has just been handed a two-year prison sentence for “intending to stir up racial hatred.” Source
His offense? Sharing stickers with anti-immigration mottos such as:
“We will be a minority in our homeland by 2066,”
Which is probably true if by "we" he means white British people.
“Mass immigration is white genocide.
Which may be true, depending on the color and quantity of the immigrants.
“Intolerance is a virtue”
Which depends on what it is of which one is intolerant. But tolerance of those who would destroy one's own nation looks like aiding an abetting in self-genocide.
and
“White Lives Matter.”
Which, though subjective, likely seems a legitimate claim to most white people.
Poor Princess Kate
Pretty certainly, when photographed, she was wearing mascara, and definitely eye shadow, and most likely a lttile blush, and maybe some powder and a touch of lipstick. Nobody complains about that, so why the fuss if she improved the skin tone in a photograph?
Or better still, lets just recognize the Daily Mail for the rubbish it is and not worry about such nonsense.

Lying Chatbots: AI Outdoes Humans at BS
Your Destination Now, March 10, 2024: Google’s Gemini AI continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons, with an author revealing that the tool created fake book reviews in order to defend the search giant.
When author Peter Hasson asked the AI program questions about a book he wrote in 2020, The Manipulators: Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Big Tech’s War on Conservatives, he found that the chatbot actually concocted a series of fake reviews attributed to real people in an effort to discredit it.
The book, which was about the political biases of Google and other tech firms, was thoroughly researched, and Hasson drew from leaked documents and inside sources to inform his writing. It apparently struck a nerve with Google as its AI program told lie after lie in an attempt to smear it.
As part of Google’s description of the book, the chatbot wrote that it has been “criticized for lacking concrete evidence and relying on anecdotal information.”
As someone who has followed the reception of his own book very closely, Hasson could not recall such a criticism, so he asked the AI who made those comments.
It then supplied him with summaries of four negative reviews that were allegedly from the New York Times, Wired, Washington Free Beacon and the New York Times Book Review.
The blurbs were very convincing. For example, the AI wrote: "Book review by Matthew Continetti in The Washington Free Beacon: This review criticizes the book for relying on ‘anecdotal evidence’ and ‘cherry-picking examples’ to support its claims."
While the Washington Free Beacon did indeed review the book, the reviewer was actually Charles Lehman, and his assessment was incredibly positive.

Germany's Very Stupid Generals: Or Were They Trying to Head Off WW3?
Russia learned of a German proposal to use long-range Taurus missiles to destroy the Kerch Bridge (linking the Russian mainland with the Crimean peninsula) by bugging a conference phone call among German generals. The Germans, Zero Hedge reports, were using "off-the-shelf and apparently non-secure video phone technology" to discuss highly sensitive matters of national security. One general on the line reportedly "dialed in from his hotel room."
The Kerch Bridge |
The implication is either that Germany's generals are very stupid people, or that they deliberately used a highly insecure method of communication for the purpose of informing Russian intelligence of what they considered an insane plan that could result in all out war. In the latter case, their hope, presumably, being that a Russian warning of retaliation, a promise for example to take out, say, London Bridge (upon which billions in tourism revenue depends) or Germany's Hohenzollern Bridge (upon which billions in industrial production depends) would stop the madness.
Anyhow, even if you can strike it, how do you destroy something that's 20 kilometers wide.

Tucker Carlson Erasing Ukrainian Nazis Out of Existence
These are the guys Zelenski sent to Eastern Ukraine to take control of the autonomous Donbas republics. Remember them? Donetsk and Luhansk, the Donbas republics granted autonomy within the Ukrainian state under the terms of the Minsk agreements.
But the Minsk agreements, former German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, recently stated, were merely a ploy to allow time to arm Ukraine for war with Russia.
Nazism is a racist form of nationalism and there have been Ukrainians Nazis for a long time. Since the 19th Century,at least. That was when Otto Von Bismarck, Chancellor of Germany promoted Ukrainian nationalism to undermine the Russian Empire. How well that worked is evident from the enthusiasm with which, during WW2, the UkroNationlists, under the leadership of Stepan Bandera, collaborated with German occupying forces in murdering hundreds of thousands of Jews and Poles across the nation.
So now we know it. Carlson is just another mouthpiece for the US Empire. Like his Dad, Dick Carlson, one-time Director of the Voice of America.

Putin's Bullshit Ukraine History
In conversation with Tucker Carlson, Vladimir Putin gave a long spiel about the history of Ukraine, beginning by reference to its Ninth Century Russian rulers. The implication was that the Ukraine and the Ukrainians have been Russian for more than a thousand years and that Ukraine is thus, morally at least, Russian territory. But that is bunk.
Russians in Ninth Century Ukraine were Viking warriors from Sweden, that is to say blood-thirsty, marauding gangsters intent on rape and pillage. They travelled South from the Baltic Sea mainly by water, portaging their boats to either the Dneiper or the Dneister River. The Dneiper took them to Kiev and the Black Sea coast. Among these Viking adventurers was Ruric, who in the mid-Ninth Century became the first so-called Russian to rule Ukraine. Thus, contrary to the intention of Putin's story, the people of Ninth Century Ukraine were not Russians, they were the same people who'd lived in Ukraine for thousands of years, which is to say they were Ukrainians.
Later, descendants of the Viking rulers of Ukraine relocated to what is now Northwest Russia, establishing themselves in Moscow and elsewhere as masters of the native inhabitants. In subsequent centuries, the Ukraine was dominated by many groups. It was not until the 17th Century that Russia incorporated Eastern Ukraine through success in war with Poland. Subsequently, Western Ukraine was acquired through a deal with the ruling Cossack Hetmanate. Then, in 1789, by war with Turkey, Russia extended the border of Western Ukraine to include Odessa.
But whatever claim Russia had over Ukraine ended with the break-up of the Soviet Union. When the Soviet Union collapsed, the Ukraine, and every other Soviet republic, became an independent state. The actual and valid justification that Putin could and should have made for his invasion of Ukraine is Zelensky's Nazi-backed war against Ukraine's self-governing ethnic Russian population of Donbas. Had Putin stood aside and allowed Ukraine to commit genocide against the majority Russian population of the Donbas region of Ukraine he would by now have been long ousted from power. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has nothing to do with supposed ancient Russian claims to Ukrainian territory. It is, and can only be justified as, a war to defend ethnic Russians against a US/NATO inspired war of genocide.
Genocide, however, is merely the trigger, not the objective of US/NATO policy. The Ukraine war is a proxy war of aggression by the NATO states against Russia with the aim of breaking up the Russian Federation, pillaging Russia's vast storehouse of natural resources, and moving NATO forces Eastward, far East, to the Usuri River, Russia's border with China.
But that looks like a really dumb hope by the now departing fat lady at the State Department, the CIA guy with the big face, and the faceless people running America's brain-dead Presidency.

The Optimum Quantity of People
Central Park, Manhattan Island, New York |
In fact, there's no imminent need to remove people from the face of the Earth despite the growing population. With today's World population of eight billion, there is around 1.4 hectares of habitable land per person, so even on a trillion-person world, there'd still be 110 square meters of habitable land per person, which is twice the area per person in present-day Hong Kong, and more than three times the area per person in the New York suburb of Manhattan -- and that's including Central Park.
